Tips
To Look Your Best
?
First, expect to have a great time. It's O.K. to be a little
nervous at first, but soon you'll relax with our easygoing
manner and ability to make you feel right at home.
? Plan
on arriving 10-15 minutes early. This will give you time to
freshen up and check your outfits. Mary Jean will spend a
few minutes with you to find out exactly what you want out
of your session. However, please come prepared. You need to
have some idea of how you want to be photographed before arriving.
Remember, we want you to have fun, and being late or unprepared
will only result in you feeling rushed and we will have less
time to spend on your photography.
?
Get plenty of rest the night before. If your appointment is
early in the morning, get up well before your session so you
don't look like you just got up.
?
Bring your favorite music. We have a tape and CD player in
the studio and it's a great way to get you to relax in front
of the camera.
? Be
sure to wear one of your outfits to the session to save time.
It's O.K. to bring more than the recommended number of outfits.
If you're not sure what you will look best in, Mary Jean will
help you pick the most photogenic ones. Remember, long sleeves
and dark colors are more slenderizing. Try to have an idea
of how the outfits come together (i.e. jewelry, belts, and
other accessories and props.) Depending on the sessions you
choose, bring something formal, something casual, and something
wild and sporty. We provide Cap and Gown and Drape/Tux. Wear
clothes that you look great in and are comfortable with. Guys
will need to wear a dress shirt and tie under their cap and
gown.
? Please
arrive with your hair ready. We have not allowed a lot of
extra time for any major hair repairs such as rolling, spraying,
or curling. If any of this is required, then please arrive
early enough to avoid any delays. Also, avoid any major style
changes and if a hair cut is needed, then it is best done
one week prior to having your portrait done.
?
Come with your makeup on. The lighting system we use tends
to wash out normal makeup application so please apply your
makeup a little heavier on the day of your session. Also,
bring your makeup with you in case we have to do any minor
touchups during your session. A matching cover-up for blemishes
(guys and gals) will enhance your preview appearance. A matte-finishing
powder will help reduce shine.
? We
try to eliminate glass glare as much as possible, but to really
insure the total elimination of this common problem, ask your
doctor to lend you an empty pair of frames.
?
Avoid excessive tanning and sunburns. Strap marks and peeling
is expensive to retouch. Try a sunless tanning lotion or makeup
to blend in strap marks.
Please
do not chew gum.
