Campanellie's Signature Portraits now has two locations to better serve our clients. Our residential studio is nestled in the rural countryside of Montgomery County in Damascus. This location provides easy access from I-270 and any of the neighboring main thoroughfares and counties. Our grounds here include one of the areas only Environmental Portrait Parks complete with a large pond and waterfall, wildflower fields when in season, and various other locations to make your visit to our studio a productive and pleasurable experience. We also have a large indoor studio area that is capable of providing a variety of contemporary backgrounds and styles depending on your particular needs and tastes.

In the summer of 2002 we will be opening a second location in Bethesda, Maryland. Located in the Pooks Hill Promenade on the arcade level this location includes both a gallery and studio space to serve our clients that are closer to the Washington D.C. area. As with our Damascus studio the Promenade has many beautiful outdoor settings that are just perfect for the creation of your family's portrait.

Our Portrait Park & Studio provide the perfect combination for the creation of your own personal photographic masterpiece for the home and the heart. Mary Jean and Joe Campanellie incorporate a contemporary style of photographic art that has made them one of the most unique studios in the State of Maryland. Their work has won numerous awards on the state, regional, and national levels as members of various professional photographic organizations. Joe was president of the Maryland Professional Photographer's Association in 2000 and 2001 and is serving a three year term on the board of directors for the Professional Photographer's of Pennsylvania. Mary Jean is currently the President of the Pennsylvania Artists Association and has held various elected positions with the Maryland Association. Besides being active business owners they still find time out of their busy schedules to lecture and instruct fellow photographers about their contemporary style of portraiture. With more than fifty years of experience in the fashion and photographic industries their unique blend of photographic and creative expertise has made them one of the most sought after photographic teams in the area.

Joe Campanellie is one of an elite group of only ten photographers in the state of MD who holds the coveted Master, Photographic Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers' of America. This is the highest degree this organization bestows upon one of it's members. He has established himself as one of the areas premier photographers, winning awards on the state, regional, and national levels. He has been awarded the Kodak Gallery Award for Photographic and Technical Excellence 9 times and the Fuji Masterpiece Award 4 times. During state print competitions Joe has won 25 Best In Show Awards and 18 Photographer of the Year Awards. He has had a number of prints selected for the International Loan Collection, the Epcot Exhibit in Orlando, Florida and the Photographer's International Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

At the 2002 convention held by the Maryland Professional Photographer's Association (MPPA) Joe was honored with the Professional Photographer's of America (PPA) National Award for outstanding service to professional photography. The National Award represents the highest honor that the PPA can bestow upon one of its' members. First made available in 1958, this award recognizes those persons who generously contribute their time and talents to the service of their profession, their affiliated organizations, and their fellow photographers. Senator Don Munson was on hand at the ceremony to present the National Award to Joe as well as recognize him with a Resolution from the Senate of Maryland as Maryland's Photographer of the Year for the tenth straight year. This is an accomplishment that no other photographer has ever accomplished within the history of this state organization.

Mary Jean Campanellie is both an accomplished photographer and photographic artist. As a member of the Professional Photographer's of America she is part of an elite group of Certified Photographic Artists and she holds the Photographic Craftsman Degree from PPA. She has an extensive background in both fine art and fashion design that contributes to the success of her images. Her contemporary style of hand coloring and print enhancement known as "Victorian Pastels" are known for their ability to reflect the romantic images of the past in a contemporary, impressionistic style. Combining hand coloring and print enhancement techniques this photographic style becomes a form of personal art that transcends the boundaries of traditional photography. As the creative half of this team, she adds a unique blend of feminine insight and sensitivity necessary to create the distinctive style that has become a trademark of their studio.

A number of her images have been displayed as part of the International Print Exhibit and the National Loan Collection. She has been honored by the Fuji Film Corporation for an unprecedented 6 times as the recipient of the Masterpiece Award for photographic print enhancement At the Pennsylvania Professional Photographer's Association annual convention held in April of 2002 Mary Jean was named "Image Maker of the Year". This marked the first time that this prestigious award had ever been won by a photographic artist At the 2002 National Convention in Atlantic City she will receive the coveted Master Artist Degree from the Professional Photographer's of America. Mary Jean will be the only individual in the state of Maryland to have achieved this level of artistic and photographic expertise.
